Californian Authorities have the right idea.
This stack of twisted metal was once the pride and joy of US hoons
With street racing related deaths on the rise across North America,
governments and police forces are trying new and somewhat drastic
measures to combat the illegal and dangerous activity.
Recently in
California, several known street racer’s rides were crushed to perhaps send a message to other racers that their crazy antics would not be tolerated.
In Western Australia, Under the anti-hoon laws, introduced by the
former Labor government, 802 vehicles were seized for periods of 48
hours between January and July 2008.
The confiscation period for a first
offence has since been raised from 48 hours to seven days, and vehicles
may be impounded for 28 days for second and subsequent offences.
